X macro vs x macro tacops.
XMACRO vs MACRO TACOPS. What are everyone's thoughts? I've heard that the MACRO TACOPS will be 150ish cheaper with more magazines. I'm definitely curious to see what Youtubers will say about this. I think it will boil down to personal preference. I prefer the tac ops and see no value with the “compensator” on the x macro.
If the mag tube was a quarter inch shorter, simply swapping on a 226 baseplate would work. The lowest point of the XL frame is the same length as the Macro frame sans mag so it kinda obviates the need for the XL. I'm thinking of doing this and started some info in the PF.com 365 thread. I shoot the X-Macro better than the XL. Maybe an X-Macro Tacops would even the field. I will say that the X-Macro "Comp" does shoot a bit flatter for me and with just maybe a bit less perceived recoil. The xmacro tac ops or comp is arguably the best carry gun out there. Balance between size, shootability and capacity. How thin it is makes such a big difference to me when carrying compared to similar length/height guns. For a carry gun I'd do the newer xmacro vs tac ops if you don't want the comp.I own a tacops, also holster searching. To answer your question pick the option that says "x macro " tacops fits x macro holster because they both have they extended slide release. If it doesn't have the x macro option don't order it. The Xl doesn't have the new extended slide release so it may not be too snug as it could be.Tested macro barrel and saw velocity was lower with 124 hst than what I had with old Xl barrel.
