Thinking of diversifying my portfolio with some REITS. I am currently debating investing in a REIT etf such as VNQ which seems to hold many of the positions discussed on this sub. VNQ yields 2.7% which is much lower than some individual stocks such as O (4%) and STAG (3.7%). So looking for some feedback ETF vs individual stocks. Thanks

I don't have a problem with VNQ in a taxable account. It also depends on how much you have invested in VNQ, with that taxable account. Another issue, is what you plan on doing with that investment. If VNQ is a small portion of your portfolio, and perhaps you are using this as a down payment for a big ticket item, then no issue here.
