.422 is #28 MEC bushing size #28 bushing is supposed to drop 25.5 Blue Dot, 19.1 Unique, or 19.8 Herco. All three of those are few grains high for 20 ga. 7/8 oz but the MEC chart is sometimes a bushing or two low. If any powders do work for 20 ga., 7/8oz with that bar it would need to be a pretty bulky powder.

Jan 19, 2020 · The conversion/update works perfectly and the changeout was simple: loosen the set screw in the old wad guide bracket, loosen the locking screw at the yoke on the bottom, remove the two circlips in the middle of the rod. Tilt the powder and shot bottles and remove the drop tubes.
Agree that those do not look like mec dies, could have been to make it load 3 1/2 . I have modified my 16 to load 2 9/16 , not rocket science. The 600 will crimp a first reloaded hull so that it looks factory, once adjusted correctly. I had a Lee loadall, not terrible but not close to the mec in quality.

I believe it is a MEC JR 600. I am trying to figure out if it is a Mark 5. I went to the mec site and it is NOT an 82-85 because it does not have the model embossed on the base. It could be a pre 82 or it could be a Mark 5. Burnt Powder. Wipe the dirt off and oil the parts that move with the exception of the charge bar and the hinge where the top folds back. They do not need any lubrication. The charge bar needs to be clean and if you lube it at all, a little graphite or silicon spray will do the trick.
