I have around 1000-1200 dollars to spend on a new shotgun for dove hunting. I don't waterfowl hunt much (maybe one every 2-3 years) so that's not a factor at this time. I think I have my choices narrowed down to the Beretta A300 Ultima and the Benelli Montefeltro.

Benelli has bombproof reliability and has extensive use and has been tested by many agencies around the globe. Beretta 1301 is real handy and light, a few quirks that are easy fixes. It's a hard choice but I eventually went with a 1301. I do plan on getting the 14" model benelli when funds allow though.
