Then release. And I think then its done. If not, its vice versa. No idea about the passenger window not working. If your passenger window won't go down after taking it in to get serviced or you just unplugged your battery, the passenger window may need to be recalibrate... As the title says, the switch to control the front passenger window from the driver side has suddenly stopped working. I can still control the passenger window from the passenger door switch. There's a window reset procedure that might fix this - maybe caused by the battery disconnect. I believe it's in the owner's manual, but I have a bookmark with the procedure. Eventually the motor wins out, but you may want to try running a credit card or something else thin, flexible and not sharp between the glass and rubber.
