I just got mine this week also. I had heard about this issue so this is what I did - performed the initial set-up - Wi-Fi etc, and then left it alone to let it charge up on the dock for a bit. Once the battery juiced up to a certain point, the software update became available and automatically started downloading. I deleted all incomplete maps / mapping runs. I Had few maps which had the same floor name, but were different rooms. For example, there are rooms on same floor but the robot is unable to go from one to another. 2. floor-> toilet, 2. floor->sauna. I renamed the floor/map names to be unique. ..Profit!
