To add, the sensor is two $.01 pieces of plated metal that get litter basically dumped on them with every cycle. So they corrode / get dirty and give tons of false pinch alerts. Turn the base over so it is upside down. 2. Remove the 9 screws connecting the bottom of the base to the top of the base. 1 screw at the back of the unit behind the black cat sensor foot. 3. Gently lift to separate the two halves of the base. The pieces will still be connected by a wire. When you get the chance, gain access to the pinch detect switch and get some petroleum jelly or equivalent, encapsulate completely the contact points of the switch, glob it on thick!
