Skills: Suspension + Elated and leave the enemy phaselocked for as long as possible. Sweet Release - So you get more healing after killint said phaselocked enemy. Restoration - not much use getting above 2-3 points here. Handy skill for healing teammates reviving you. Quicken - more Phaselock = more healing. Scorn for slagging.

The biggest difference is co-op play. Because Maya is the best support character in the game, you will be expected to fill that role in co-op. If you like playing medic that's great. If not Axton is probably a better choice if you play with others. If you play solo it depends more on what action skill you like.
