Glenfield 30a vs marlin 336.

Hi fellas, first post here. I’ve wanted a Marlin lever gun for quite some time now. Still don’t have it though. 😐 My LGS has a Glenfield 30A on the shelf. It’s a 1968 vintage. Metal is pretty good, but clearly been used. Most of the flathead screws are somewhat boogered up, not terrible, but not like new. A 30A has a birch stock and no Marlin bullseye. The front sight is not on a ramp but dovetailed into the barrel. It has an endcap instead of bands. It is fully a Marlin, just made to a slightly lower price point. $375.00 is not outrageous as a price. The only differences are a hardwood stock, blued trigger and the sights are also different. Re: Marlin 30AS vs 336. Receiver & screw holes are the same so yes you can use 336 rail... The differences are mostly cosmetic: furniture (stock) and lack of a barrel-band (30AS has a front-end cap like some other Marlin models)... (See pic for barrel-band vs end-caps styles...) I'm looking around for a 336 but have come up with some pictures labeled 30a (glenfield). Comparing pictures I'm trying to figure out the difference between the 2. What can people tell me?

The one I got today has a fancy dark walnut stock and the forearm almost looks like a dark burl walnut, it has a gold trigger and copper butt plate.
