ASHR is supposed to invest in Chinese business, and to go up when the Chinese GDP goes up. China has increased by 5 to 8% per year, but ASHR has declined by 40% over the last few years. Nope.. ASHR tracks 300 companies, not GDP. Why GDP went up much more than the stock market is an interesting question.
