When I moved up to a MEC 9000 reloader, the results still were not good, perhaps even worse. I tried increasing the wad pressure to 60 – 70 lbs but I was told by MEC that I should not do that. MEC recommended either Downrange wads or Remington RPX wads. I'm new to the 20ga myself. I have been using both the Remington and Winchester hulls, wads and primers with Hodgdon International Clays. I have a MEC 600JR press. It seems to like the combination of AA hull and the WAA20 wad. The crimps are perfect and the AA hull seems to last a long time. I do plan to try the Federal Gold Medal some day.

Using the SP20 wad in the STS case left way too much extra room in the hull, and substituting a RXP20 gave me funny sounding shells. Another load that I came across today would be: STS case, Win Primer, 21.5gr Blue Dot, SP20, 1oz lead, for 10,600 PSI (200 psi more than my regular 7/8oz target load w/ Universal Clays). Velocity is 1155.In any case, I have reduced the load to 16 grains of N64 and it works well in CF WAA case, Vitavouri Primer, Remington SP20 wad with both 3/4oz and 7/8 oz loads on Skeet. Pretty happy with that. Need some data for 80 series now.

I'd believe it to be one of the following: W29944, W29942 or W23678 or a R20 or RP20. The cup dimensions appear to be the same, just the base is shorter on the yellow wad.

Both are right off the Aliant listed loads. I use rem primers with rem hulls & win primers with AA hulls. AA20HS hull, win209, SP20 wad, Blue Dot, & 1 ounce of shot (1250fps). STS20 hull STS209-p, SP20 wad, Blue Dot, & 1 ounce of shot (1225fps). What is nice is with the 20 I have loaded REM/WIN/FED hulls with out changing any crimp adjustments.
