I received the protovyre collection from a clanmate as a gift. (in case that's relevant.) I think the relic one must be bugged because I obtained 7 different relics while focus farming ESO and didn't gain a single bit of progress. I was host at the time. For OP specifically: The equipped ephemera did gain focus and evolved as planned.

There are a syandana, an ephemera and an armour set. Doing various tasks unlocks different forms of Protovyre armour, each look getting bigger and fancier as you unlock them. The Protovyre syandana is very over the top, and the syandana can be a bit too big as well.Each piece of the set has 3 separate pieces. So there's the base ephemera, then two upgraded ephemeras etc. So if you were to upgrade the arms, when you equip the arms it would be the second version of them, and when you buy and equip legs, you'll only have that first version and it's challenge.
