Remove the barrel. Use the tip of the mag cap to press out the trigger group pins and remove the trigger assembly. Reach in and remove the bolt. Slide the forend off. My 835 was one of the models that had trouble with the extractor not grabbing the shell when you cycle the action. then I found out online AND from Benelli direct, a barrel 18.5" was gonna be like $500-$550... plus then I'd need to mount a rail on the receiver and get the rear aperature. I have both a Nova and a 500. The 500 is a very stout gun, the stock plastic grips do have a little wobble but the wood upgrade is solid. Sxp, I have 3 of them and never had a single issue with them. I'd get the Nova if you like the fit of both. Benelli > Winchester in my opinion. Shotgun action release positioning is such an overstated feature. The only time you are using a pump release is when you are done shooting and need to unload a round.
