Hello Matt, I too found that backup beeping annoying. Yes, I know its there for safety reasons. So, pop the hood and open the fuse box on your right. Halfway down, second fuse from the right is the VESS 10 amp fuse (look on the back of the fuse box lid). Use the provided fuse puller and remove and save that fuse.There is a youtube video of the removal of the vess cable from a kia niro. If its similar to the Tucson there are lots of bolts and clips to remove in order to silence the speaker.
