Ruger security 9 slide stuck.
Sat down with my new LC9 to look her over. That inclued pullig the slide back and engaging the hold. After I was done looking around inside, I pulled the slide back to release the hold and it did not retract. Just now as I sit down to write this, I popped the magazine out, tried it, and the slide retracted back home. What's the theory behind this?
Possibly call local gun smith. Hold slide. Slam palm onto grip. Repeat. it could be the round stuck that's preventing the slide from moving. If you can press on the extractor (releasing case) while pulling the slide back, you may get it to move. It seems I'm having this issue every time I strip the gun. It seems like the recoil spring pops out of the spot it sits on the barrel when I push the slide back to put the takedown pin back in.
