Its more for the look and ambi controls than anything else. Real deal Armalite AR10s have the slant cut with no forward assist just like the Billet sabres do. Also the billets don't have the Sabre logo on the left side of the gun, its blank. If you don't care and just want a nice AR10 that isnt 5k, then yea just get the Forged.

Yes, paint easily sticks to stainless steel. I have completely painted my PA10s with cheap spray paint from tractor supply with no trouble. And even your base model PA10 is better than the Aero M5, mainly because PA10s don't tend to be undergassed like M5s. Good to know.
