Jun 18, 2008 · Summit sells one very similar but with shorter advertized numbers for about $90 cam and lifters. I bought this 355 and the guy said that the cam was one up from stock. He dropped off the receipts for the engine build the other day and it is a 7102 cam kit. Actually Edelbrock has quite a few milder cams.

I noticed that when I opened up the timing cover that the marks on the cam gear and the crankshaft gear were both at the 12 o'clock position while the distributor rotor was pointed at the #1 post on the cap and the mark on the harmonic balancer was pointed to 0 degrees TDC. I estimate with the original bottom end of the 350/290 combined with the vortecs and performer intake, im around 9.5:1 compression. It was 8.5:1 in its original condition before the OP messed with it. My plans are to install new stock vortec heads, edelbrock performer intake, and a cam.
