Same problem Hey guys, my LLY has recently been doing the same sluggish acceleration as of recent. Today the truck fell on its face, so i pinned it and then three codes appeared. They were P0401 EGR insufficient flow, P0404 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Open, and P0101 Mass Air Flow Sensor Circuit Range/Performance. Any and all adviced is appreciated.

A day later it was so loud you couldn't ignore it. Starts when you accelerate at lows speeds and by the time you're up to about 45/50mph it quiets down to the point where you only hear it slightly on heavy acceleration. The sound is almost like a roots/twin screw supercharger; like a dry gear turning really fast.

As you know the Duramax does not have a lift pump to push the fuel from the fuel tank to the engine, it uses the injection pump [CP3], to draw/suck the fuel from the fuel tank through all the fuel lines, filter, FICM and then into the CP3.
