Before you had to insert the ingredients and press a button then if the ingredients were correct another button came up and that one started the sequencing. they removed the second part. My solution is to have two autocrafters, with one on each end of my base. Luckily, it works out pretty well because most of my gardening and food-related items are on one end, and my ores, silk, and whatnot are on the other.
