They are basically relegated to strike burn weapons, which is a shame given how much cooler most of them look when compared to their originals. The Vault of Glass adept weapons are beautiful and I would've loved to have given them more use but in the raid, as you said, you can't really justify using them when there are much more powerful exotics.
